What's Meetup?

Maybe it's time for a little less face-to-screen and a little more face-to-face.

What's a Meetup Group?

Meetup Groups are today's support groups, parent playgroups, citizen groups, fitness groups, book clubs, professional groups, and other powerful local groups!

Seems like Centric as a location went down pretty well. We're still open to finding a more public location that can accomodate 20-ish people and isn't amazingly loud, though . . . so if you have alternates, let us know.

A new theme for this meeting, since it seems like we've put together a set of regulars: show and tell. Bring your virtual world project-in-process or project-to-be to show and get feedback from a wide range of perspectives. After brief intros, that's what we'll be concentrating on.

Working projects include: Los Angeles' first virtual world Barcamp. Educational worlds. Entertainment worlds. Chinese worlds. And lots of other stuff.

And, the standard pitch: If you're building virtual worlds, developing alternate reality games, experimenting with social media, looking for new ways to extend the world of your stories, or wondering what all this massive change means for your business, this is the Meetup for you! Come and meet other people who are changing the world of marketing and entertainment. Make new contacts. Talk about new ideas. Discover new directions. Who knows what earth-shattering projects might emerge . . .

Sorry I can't come to this meeting but we have our big games industry event in Vegas this week (DICE) ... I'm aiming to make the next meeting though.
