* Case Study - Citizens Bank of Canada. Maureen McCartney, Web Marketing Manager at Citizens Bank will share how a financial institution used Facebook to promote brand awareness and drive business results.

Ean Jackson has invested the past 20+ years of his professional career in management, technical and business development roles in the technology industry. He has been employed by businesses across North America ranging from technology startups to major multinational corporations including Oracle Corporation, Sprint International and.IBM. He is on the business faculties of 3 universities, including the University of British Columbia where he teaches Internet Marketing in the MBA program. In his current role as President of Analytics Marketing Inc., he helps businesses apply technology to generate sales.

Maureen McCartneyMaureen McCartney, Web Marketing Manager

As the Web Marketing Manager for Citizens Bank of Canada, Maureen McCartney manages the bank?s website, citizensbank.ca, and their Digital Production Studio. She is responsible for driving business results through the web, implementing online strategies, ensuring brand integrity and nurturing Web 2.0 initiatives. She has been working in internet marketing and ecommerce for the last seven years since graduating from UBC?s Internet Marketing program. Previously Maureen worked at Robeez Footwear, (a $30 million mompreneur BC success story) as an Internet Marketing Specialist for 4 years when sales grew over 1000%. She developed and managed online marketing campaigns and initiatives and was responsible for the brand online, SEM, affiliates and viral marketing in North America and in internationally markets.

Michael FergussonMichael Fergusson, Founder, Kinzin
Chief Products and Innovation Officer, Uniserve Communications

Michael Fergusson has been building internet-related products and companies for nearly 15 years. He is passionate about using technology to impact people's lives for the better, evidenced by 6 pending patents for distributed collaboration technologies, together with one of the top word of mouth marketing blogs on the internet. Michael has founded, or been a very early stage officer, investor, or advisor in numerous startups, including Gradfinder (sold to Highwired in 2000), Enfolding Systems (sold to Blast Radius in 2002), Blast Radius (sold to WPP in 2007), XMetaL (sold to Just Systems in 2006), Movieset, and iSociety. Michael is also Founder and Leader of Kinzin, a social networking startup for safe and secure sharing of family news, events and pictures and has launched the highly-successful Facebook applications "Are You Normal?" (used by over 1.5 million people) and "These Are My Kids". Michael is also Chief Products and Innovation Officer at Uniserve Communications, Kinzin's parent company.

Phillip JeffreyPhillip Jeffrey, Grad Student

Media and Graphics Interdisciplinary Centre
University of British Columbia

Phillip Jeffrey is a University of British Columbia grad student and his home department is the Media and Graphics Interdisciplinary Centre (MAGIC). Phillip has written and spoken about his collaborative research in the design and evaluation of games using mobile technologies in real world environments. As a local expert on Facebook, Phillip shares his knowledge through publications, media appearances, and presentations.
